When Should I Start Training My Puppy?

Some people think that puppies are too young to train. The truth is that puppies are learning all the time, whether or not we are purposefully teaching them.  Only without guidance, they learn the wrong things, often with disastrous results.

t’s never too early to start training. Puppies as young as 8 weeks can start class, and they learn quickly. You’ll be amazed to see your puppy working obediently off leash on the first session.

In general, puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first de-worming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class–American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior
